State Secretary of the Minister cited statistics, which show that the cause of death of 20% of all of the dead became a disease caused by Smoking. Kostennikov noted that the restrictive measures taken by Moscow made it possible to reduce tobacco consumption in Russia. This means that will decrease the number of diseases associated with Smoking.

The consolidated budget of health of Russia in 2017 will amount to 3 trillion 35.4 billion rubles. He was increased in comparison with the year 2016 of 5.9%. Most of the budget designated for the payment of costs in the framework of the OMC – 1 trillion 735 billion. The expenses of the Ministry of health on medicines in 2017 will be of 82.43 billion. Of them 70,82 billion rubles will be allocated for the purchase and 11.61 billion roubles — on interbudgetary transfers in the Russian Federation.

According to statistics of the world health organization, published in January 2017, the main cause of death worldwide are ischemic heart disease and stroke. In 2015, from them died on 15 million people. Cardiovascular diseases remain the main causes of death in the world for the last 15 years. From chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in 2015 died 3.2 million people. From lung cancer (along with cancer of the trachea and bronchi) – 1.7 million people.

In Russia, mortality from cardiovascular diseases is 48% of all causes of death. Since 2008 this indicator decreased by 10% then it was at 58%. The mortality rate of Russians from stroke decreased from 2008 to 2016 45% and amounted to about 123 per 100 000 people. In October 2017, the Minister of health Veronika Skvortsova said that in 2017, the mortality from circulatory diseases in Russia decreased by 4.1% neoplasms 3% respiratory diseases — by 10.7%, tuberculosis — by 16.9%, diseases of the digestive system — 5.1%, alcohol poisoning is 19.3%, and as a result of an accident — by 7.7%.
